  • A well crafted psycho-thriller that keeps you immersed in a nightmare until the end. Claire Foy shows she's an "A" actress.

  • A really fun crazy/insane asylum movie! Clare Foy (the Queen on the Crown) is the patient/is she crazy or not??? There are some pretty unbelievable twists but , hey, it is an evil adylum movie!

  • Unsane is insane---well...maybe? How can someone really tell?Claire Foy is great. Occasionally, the story seems to bypass the obvious, but those are minor issues. For your $8, you'll get $8 worth of entertainment. Don't forget to wind the cuckoo clock!

  • Reviewers staying away from the edgy topics Steven Soderberg hits on in this amazing movie. They choose to talk more about the IPhone he used to film a movie about a woman being stalked, about the mental health industrial complex scam she is falls into for as long as her insurance pays off. About how these clinics for profit seem to arrange for any given stay to be extended as long as they know they'll keep getting paid. NY'er reviewers can't get over that IPhone with various distorting lenses. They did give it 79% which means better reviews were given elsewhere. I'd rate it an easy 90% and will see it again bc this movie is why I still go to movies Matt Damon cameo and all.

  • Love Claire Foy and she didn't disappoint. This was a good movie and it really makes you think about whether or not she's truly crazy or telling the truth.

  • Ok so it was a good movie, not great and not for everyone. Good premise, great acting for the actors of this info also Matt Damon makes an appearance. Can u tell it was shot on a cell phone well I can. It's not like it's bad picture quality it's just something I can tell. Lots of close ups, no gore, on the side there making know how broken our medical system is broken and how it takes advantage of it. I say if u want to see something different and like thrillers check it out also just so u know there is one gross scene a girl throws her used tampon at the star of the movie

  • The premise of this movie is great. The overall story is well thought out and original and it is well directed and very well acted (Claire Foy was great). The only problem I had with this movie that cost it a star and a half was the pacing. This movie felt really long and slow and that led to it being a little boring at times. If only it would have picked up pace at times. Overall though this was an original and creative idea that I enjoyed.

  • Although a familiar plot for many, there was still enough here to keep me engaged throughout. Some of the most terrifying themes in this film were those that were most realistic, and could have been explored in greater depth. Jay Pharoah does good work in an unexpected role. Debated between 3* and 3.5* but when you film your whole movie on an iPhone you get the bump.

  • Excellent film for a $1.5 dollar budget, it was somewhat entertaining but some scenes and including the end i would added another version to twist the story but the way its written is still good i just had an idea i could made it better. Good close up shots and good acting as well

  • Unsane is yet another well-struck thriller/horror-ish film that takes an original concept and bends it on its head. It's actually amazing to me just how much better these horror/thrillers are than they were a few years back. Whether that's because we have more of them then we used to and naturally there will be more good ones, or perhaps there's just more care given to the making of them. Either way, I'm sure as heck enjoying the resurgence. Some may say Steven Soderbergh's decision to film the entire production on an iphone may be "gimmicky" or just down right unnecessary, but they would be wrong. It's not that the film is scarier because it looks worse, but it certainly helps that you feel like this is a more human and personal story with just a cell phone being used. Is insane (or maybe unsane?) to think of how far we have come in filmmaking, but there's almost no excuse for young filmmakers to not explore their dream now that Soderbergh has paved the way for them to see their dream fulfilled. (It should be noted that Soderbergh wasn't the first person to do this, but he's certainly the most popular filmmaker to do it).Being involuntarily committed into a mental institution is unsettling as is, but the fact that your stalker may or may not be one of the employees in the institution, is just downright terrifying. And so the chaos and scares ensue. But for me, the psychological side of things becomes far more scary than a simple horror jump scare. It's these moments that make Unsane one of the best films of the year so far.8.8/10
