Most typically, Hollywood tends to use all sorts of impairments, especially mental ones (see "Rain Man", for example), as stepping stones to Oscar immortality. That is not the case here. Downplayed is all "special attention" to the subject and quite often the audience is left to suss it out on their own, which in this case makes for a sublime experience. The character's good qualities ride side-by-side with his impairment and we are shown how one exists perhaps because of the other. The story itself is interesting and the side plots sustain throughout. All in all a competent work.

Jennifer Morrison is incredible, I love her work and everything she does Truly a beautiful, smart, talented, iconic, and inspiration to our generation. I LOVE her.

Morrison made an excellent choice for her debut. You can feel her warmth for the characters in her personal stamp on the story. It adds to this spirited tale of a person overcoming their limitations.

It connects with intimate moments, with Morrison preserving as much personality and private yearning as possible, keeping the picture away from becoming a complete cartoon.
