6.2 No Men Beyond This Point
Drama, Comedy, Art House & International, Science Fiction & Fantasy
Imagine a world where, since 1953, women have been able to reproduce without men and they are no longer giving birth to male babies. Now, over 60 years later, this deadpan mocumentary follows the youngest man still alive - 37 year-old Andrew Myers. Working as a housekeeper for a family of women, Andrew finds himself at the center of a battle to prevent men from going extinct. No Men Beyond This Point is a feature film that asks the question, what would the world be like if women were in charge?

- I thought this was hilarious! And a fascinating meditation on what a society run by women may be like. Seriously. Loved it as a light social experiment, which is it's purpose, I believe.Reply
- Great movie! I thought it was odd that women would create a world of sexual abstinence instead of pairing up to form a bomb lesbian utopia, and the laughs were a little thin if only because misogynistic attitudes were portrayed a little too accurately. Besides the heteronormative trajectory of the narrative, it was a good look at why gender equality and an end to sexism are so vital to our success as a species. Really enjoyed itReply

- Quirky little mockumentary about an alternative timeline in which men have been going extinct for the last 60 years. In the alternate timeline men are now almost extinct and society has moved beyond a need for men at all. It's funny, but I think they could have done better by NOT making it in to a romantic comedy. It would have been stronger if they didn't try to make it a rom-com.Not amazing, but if you like comedy and out-side-the-norm stories I think it's worth a watch.Reply

- Not sure why this movie isn't getting better ratings. It is clever, smart, funny, and engaging. I wouldn't have changed anything!Reply
- Between a 5/10 and 6/10, the scenario is airtight - faked archival footage is brilliant - but the larger point a bit unclear.Reply
-
- A mocumentary that takes potshots at MGTOW, 3ed wave feminism, & the entire battle of the sexes.Reply
- A far better movie than the reviews would indicate, no it's not another "Gone With The Wind." Instinct told me to ignore the reviews; I found it humorous and occasionally poignant. What really scares me is that perhaps a good part of the negative reviews were reactionary and fearful, the ostrich syndrome.Reply

- The scenario is airtight - faked archival footage is brilliant - but the story might have worked better as a thriller like Logan's Run or Children of Men.Reply
- With such a compelling premise, the film definitely keeps your interest and is at times very smart, but it just misses.Reply
