Striking up relationships with a local young punk Marcus (Jack Kilmer) and her loner neighbor Hank (Dylan McDermott), she quickly becomes a hot topic of local gossip. • Josie is a great trailer for a potentially great film. Sophie Turner (Josie) manages to pull off a decent southern accent and punk look in her title role. Despite the average at best dialog and direction this film's plot could have been unveiled far earlier in the story, this film seemed like a trailer for what this movie should have been. The pacing of this movie is very off, dragging on all character progression and dialog for unecessary amounts of time to only reveal the truth in the last five minutes of the film. Josie's character seems quite interesting despite the focus of this movie not being on her, kind of weird since the movie is called Josie. Perhaps they should have stuck with the original title of 'Huntsville' as it would have fit this movie far better. There are a couple aesthestically pleasing shots throughout this movie, most of which take place in the very beginning and the end of the film. This movie is considered a 'thriller' which may explain why the focus wasn't on the emotions of the villain throughout the most of the movie. The villain's motives are fairly cliche and standard, but that doesn't mean this movie had to be as well. Basically this movie is very average, it is a locked room full of potential. Certainly deserves more than a 14% however.

  • I was riveted from the get go! The plot summary is very vague so I loved trying to discover more! Sophie Turner commanded my FULL attention during the climax to the point that I didn't realize I hadn't been able to blink. The "a-ha" moment was an edge-of-my-seat delight! DM played his part with a sleepy precision that was so in tune with the pace of the film. Sophie was brilliant and dazzling! The rest of the ensemble cast fit like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle! My experience as a whole left me both shock with awe! Splendid acting, amazing twists! Spot-on!Copied from my other account.
