  • This latest installment in The Howling series is by far the best out of all the previous Howling movies that failed to live up to the original Joe Dante classic. This may not be as good as the original but it comes close enough to the original. This movie is about a young teenager name Will Kidman who falls in love with a beautiful young woman and is almost done with his high school years. But soon Will starts to act strange and he soon learns his identity that he's a werewolf and he soon meets one of the people who calls him his son who are also werewolves and its now up to Will if he'll continue living a normal life as a good werewolf and save the world with his new girlfriend or he'll join the people who calls him their son in eating innocent people. Ok I gotta be honest this is a fine movie for me not the best in the series but it shows proof that it can stand on its own so its a stand alone sequel that is not related to any of the previous Howling films. One of the great things about this movie is that the film is not only in line with the original Joe Dante classic but it is also darker than any of The Howling films and this movie borrowed elements from the original Joe Dante classic and just made it darker at the same time which is a good thing. The other things I like about this movie is that the film is bloodier and more graphic than the original plus the movie has a nice setting, the movie also possess a grim atmosphere and the soundtrack is neat at the same time. The only problem with this movie is that the film feels a bit rushed in parts its like Joe Nimziki wanted to finish the movie quickly and wanted to make sure he's done with the entire film by rushing every scene in the film. The one thing that will also bother me with this movie is that you don't know if this movie is the latest sequel in The Howling series or the movie acts more as an adaptation of the AXN TV show Teen Wolf because the film's songs use different romantic songs and teen rock and roll songs as well. Now the acting is great in this film. All of the casts deliver solid performances in the film. The lead actor in this movie did a very good job with his performance in this film. Lindsey Shaw on the other hand delivers the same thing and she's all grown up after I last saw her in the Nickelodeon TV show Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide and the rest of the casts deliver solid performances in the movie at the same time. Director Joe Nimziki did a very good job with his work in the movie a lot and his directing is tight but rushed as well. That's ok at least he made the latest installment in The Howling series work very well and its on par with the original Joe Dante classic. Overall The Howling: Reborn is a great sequel in The Howling series and it is the best out of all the sequels in The Howling series this is in line with the original Joe Dante classic. This movie gets an 8/10.

  • It's a low budget direct to DVD horror movie, but I enjoyed it.

  • I'm the exception on this one, I liked it. With the exception of the original, MUCH better than any other entries in the franchise and, except for the name, has little in common with them. Decently acted with a good story, it's werewolf horror for the teen angst set without the syrupy dreck of Twilight.

  • For anyone wondering what the 1980's classic THE HOWLING would look like if it were made for the TWILIGHT generation, you now have your answer. Tweens everywhere will have a new werewolf film to add to their collection in THE HOWLING REBORN, the eighth entry into the series and the newest sequel following the disastrous NEW MOON RISING from 1995. Life is difficult enough for Will Kidman between finishing his math homework and fending off high school bullies, but things become even hairier when he learns that he is the last in the bloodline of a powerful pack of werewolves. Now, he must choose to fight his killer instinct to protect the girl he loves or embrace his inner beast to run with the pack! While it is far from perfect, THE HOWLING REBORN is sure to become a guilty pleasure amongst werewolf fans after it ramps up the teen drama with a surprising amount of violence and sexuality. Joe Nimziki's script is riddled with plot holes and goofy dialog, but he maintains a steady stream of action that includes some of the best creature effects since the original. This teen-edgy reboot is surprisingly one of the better films in the series, and it will likely spawn several sequels of its own.-Carl ManesI Like Horror Movies

  • Not bad at all. The Howling was a good horror film with very good special effects. The sequels have all been awful up until this one. The story is somewhat original -- really just a different set of twists on some familiar werewolf movie themes but not another trite rehash. The acting and effects are both pretty good. Nothing great about any of it but it was quite entertaining.

  • Not one of the best in the howling series but it is definatly a step in the right direction after the wretched new moon. At least they can aford somewhat good looking wolves in this film.

  • it would have been better if i wasn't force to read the text messages from their phones to know what was going on. PUSH THE CALL BUTTON AND INCLUDE THE AUDIENCE IN WHAT YOU ARE SAYING.

  • Finally a sequel deserving of the original. Degrassi all star Landon lingerieon plays the main wolf with just and the movie is never a bore it's just I wish the twilight for Wolves were left out but if you need it for the franchise do it

  • Not bad, as a continuation of a very hit an miss series of films. Howling was great, Howling 2 not quite so, etc etc... But although it did seem to stick to the usual type of werewolf makeup effects from the original Howling, it would have benefitted from something more modern like the level of makeup effects of Underworld maybe.
