  • Actually it's just another spy movie like bourne franchise or body of lies, nothing's new. But they throw a good scoring, and excellent performances by hamm and pike. The only question is, why the hell a couple of agency's mans could not help themselves to talk loud about something secret in the nest of israel body after they discuss something mark as confidential?

  • Jon Hamm gives a solid performance in a rather dry espionage tale.

  • I found it much better than its current audience rating of 56%. I liked it quite a lot, just not 5 stars.

  • I liked this one a lot. They could have done more to avoid the muslim=terrorist trope though.

  • This is an EXCELLENT movie. Very sad but realistic portrayal of the competiting priorities in the region and the players who are involved. It might be the 19702/1980s in the movie but the topics are relevant. Jon Hamm is compelling, Rosamund Pike outstanding.

  • A capably made though not overly engaging geopolitical thriller about the complexities of life in Lebanon in the 70s and 80s. While the film does its best to explain the intricacies of Lebanese politics and US relations with the Middle Eastern nation, the film unfortunately tends to get a little bogged down in its own attempts to sort them out for the viewer while telling an intelligible story. The writing is reasonably solid, if a bit glib at times, and the performances are strong, though not especially memorable. Wait for the DVD.

  • Excellent film, great pacing, a truly interesting story set in a true-to-life chaotic era. The greatest shame is that justice warriors are using the Rotten Tomatoes reviews to artificially lower the audience score of this immersive film. This is an excellent example of the filmmaker's art, but to the complainers, it IS NOT a documentary on Lebanese life. I wish the director of this film had been chosen to film A Wrinkle in Time. Oh, and this is beyond a doubt the best work that Jon Hamm has ever done, great job.

  • Very intriguing movie about a time and place (Beirut 70s & 80s) that almost acts as a character itself. The plot twists were not overly shocking or unrealistic and the story took the right amount of time to develop. Very good movie.
