  • A lot more substance under the hood than you'd expect from a cops-and-mobsters indie crime thriller. Justin Chatwin's rookie detective has pathos under his caged-animal cockiness that makes you want to see him work through his demons, and Peter Stormare gives a tour-de-force monologue worth the price of admission. There's enough twists to keep you intrigued, the dialog is smart and unexpectedly funny, and the resolution has get-you-in-the-throat emotional resonance. Definitely worth checking out.
