Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures (MGM) and Pantelion Films presents Overboard, a fresh take on the iconic romantic comedy. In a splashy new twist, Overboard focuses on "Leonardo" (EUGENIO DERBEZ), a selfish, spoiled, rich playboy from Mexico's richest family and "Kate" (ANNA FARIS), a working class single mom of three hired to clean Leonardo's luxury yacht. After unjustly firing Kate and refusing to pay her, Leonardo falls overboard when partying too hard and wakes up on the Oregon coast with amnesia. Kate shows up at the hospital and, to get payback, convinces Leonardo he is her husband and puts him to work - for the first time in his life. At first miserable and inept, Leonardo slowly settles in. Eventually he earns the respect of his new "family" and co-workers. But, with Leonardo's billionaire family hot on their trail and the possibility of his memory returning at any moment, will their new family last or will Leonardo finally put the clues together and leave them for good? A Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures and Pantelion Films of a 3Pas Studios production, Overboard is set for release on May 4, 2018.

  • Funny. This had the right amount of humor and sentiment to make it enjoyable and didn't go "overboard" with the corniness. I did like the shark bit and the sheriff names "M. Brody" a nice nod to JAWS.

  • Okay, a little ridiculous but I thoroughly enjoyed OVERBOARD. The best part was watching the male lead, Eugenio Derbez. Wikipedia says he is "one of the most influential creative forces in Latin America ..." Variety wrote that he was "testing his box-office mettle" with U.S. audiences. I say he passed the test. Another Go See.

  • This was MUCH better than some of the reviews I read about it on here. I would say only about 10% or less of the movie was in subtitles. Some people just must not like a little cultural flavor. It was very entertaining and quite different from the first movie.

  • Some funny parts. Should've been more goofy like dumb and dumber. And a lot of it was in Spanish with subtitles, which was really weird.

  • I loved the Latin twist they gave this version of Overboard. I found the movie hilarious! The whole theater was laughing. My 14 year old daughter liked it so much see saw it twice.

  • Typical Rom Com plot and ending. However I found this film funny and heartwarming. A lot of the humor is gears toward a Spanish-speaking audience, which is probably why I especially enjoyed it. This remake is by far better than the original.

  • Not as bad as the high-brow critics rated it. It's a decent popcorn movie that keeps you entertained. Just don't expect it to be in the league of an Oscar-nominated comedy. Enjoy.

  • Comedies are tricky. Romantic comedies are trickier. This one was actually funny. The whole theater was laughing. Despite some cheesy moments it managed to reign it back in. I also enjoyed the music in the movie and the seamless intermingling of cultures. I know movie critics don't like comedies. Most of them are intellectual snobs. But if you want some light hearted feel-good entertainment, this is the movie for you.

  • Some good moments, but pretty predictable. Too young to know of the first one. One thing I liked was that they got things pretty accurately. Not bad
