- Great Movie! Based on true story. Will go back to watch again with more friends. Highly recommended!Reply
- a very good film. There was a tacked-on scene at the end that was outright propaganda, but everything else was there to serve the story. Interesting characters and relationships (for an ensemble). I read reviews saying there was no character development and wonder if that perception is just unconscious racism - all chinese look alike. i'm not asian but i got a sense of most of the main characters as individuals, and mourned the losses along the way. Physical effects were generally high-quality, including heaps of graphic shots of injuries and bodies (you have been warned) and an isis-style beheading (it does not cut away). again though, this stuff is not gratuitous and serves the theme of self-sacrifice. admittedly some of the computer effects were second-rate - cgi seems to be the 'jet engine' of chinese cinema.Reply
- at first, i thought it was some propaganda low quality bullshit cartoon movie from china. but it turns out to be high quality and exceed my expectation. i totally recommend you guys to watch.Reply

- fast pace, high tension, brutal realistic battle scenes, high accurate on militiral details, who's ever seen 4 M60A3 tanks in battle action in one movie. suits to militiral fans, very entertimingReply
- Compared to Dunkirk, this movie was disappointing. It lacks a focus on the people. It focuses way too much on government .Reply

- Though not a bad film - it was concerning for the overt Nationalism. Perhaps not as gripping as American made films dealing with similar concepts - it does nonetheless tick the boxes needed for an action movie. The last scene was quite overt in talking about Chinese waters.Reply
