Everyone's favorite daredevil Johnny Knoxville is back to his hilariously painful antics in the upcoming comedy ACTION POINT. Knoxville stars as D.C., the crackpot owner of a low-rent, out-of-control amusement park where the rides are designed with minimum safety for maximum fun. Just as D.C.'s estranged teenage daughter Boogie comes to visit, a corporate mega-park opens nearby and jeopardizes the future of Action Point. To save his beloved theme park and his relationship with his daughter, D.C. and his loony crew of misfits risk everything to pull out all the stops - and stunts - making for another wild ride from the star of BAD GRANDPA and JACKASS.

  • If you love Johnny Knoxville and/or Party Boy, Chris Pontius like I do, you'll really like "Action Point" . If you're unfamiliar and taking in a comedy, you might be disappointed. Long live Jackass !

  • It was what I expected. Overall entertaining but it was a slow jackass movie with a story.

  • I honest to god was shocked at how good this movie was. It's not Shakespeare, but it's a good time in the same way National Lampoon films are a good time. It's a very simple movie, and it's simple enough to be like life. It's funny & has a shockingly touching narrative between the two leads. One of the biggest problems I see with some of these reviews is that a lot of people are looking at this film as "another Jackass film". Which it's not. There's a reason Spike Jonze didn't work on this film, and Dickhouse didn't produce it. It's not "Jackass Presents: Action Point". It's Action Point, and I think that there was a reason for that. Part of the issue is that the marketing team tried way too hard to get the Jackass crowd into theaters, which is not what you want for a movie like this. This is a movie with an actual plot. And not just a loose plot like in Bad Grandpa. But it's a plot driven movie. There are only, like 4 or 5 stunts in this film by Johnny Knoxville & it really didn't warrant the marketing campaign of "BIG STUNTS!!!!!!" without talking about the big elements of the film. So the people who went to see this for the things advertised, end up sorely disappointed.Maybe it's because I had low expectations or because I love simple National Lampoon style films, due to their nostalgia & touching elements, but I really enjoyed this film. And I'll probably watch this movie for years to come.

  • I enjoyed the movie for what it is supposed to be. It was about a simpler time when people were able to enjoy the edges of life. From a majority of the reviews it seems everything needs to be the next Titanic. I appreciate movies that allow the viewer to take in what is being presented without having a man in a scarf at Starbucks trying to relate it to everyday life. I hope Knoxville and friends keep these gems coming!

  • A movie like this could never get five stars to begin with because I t's basically the amalgamation of the jackass and bad grandpa movies, and if you liked the jackass movies, you'll probably like this movie too. It Is just a plain stupid comedy with funny and stupid stunt scenes. This movie is probably mostly geared towards anybody who grew up on the jackass movies. However, the movie takes us back to 1978, so anybody who grew up during that time will definitely appreciate this movie as well.

  • As a jackass fan, this movie did not disappoint. It gave the same hilarious Johnny Knoxville experience in a different movie. I never get tired of seeing these funny stunts. I would've liked to see a little bit more funny stunts but with everything that Knoxville went through, I understand. If your looking for a good laugh with your friends, this is for you!

  • I think it's fair to assume his will be an atypical review, but I'm sitting in a empty theater watching this movie and I am pretty sure that if you don't think this movie is hilarious, you're a total douchebag. If anyone expects anything besides "reverse-engineered" plot that shows off funny stunts and bits, you are a jackass. Jerk yourself off while I watch Knoxville turn his body into pudding, if you don't think this is art by now you really haven't been paying attention and you probably host super lame dinner parties that you think are the talk of the town.

  • Much like the rides that inspired it, Action Point is a fast and funny thrill ride without brakes.

  • Action Point is short, stupid, occasionally funny, filled with wince-inducing practical gags, catchy country music, and is generally pleasant and likable.

  • As with Knoxville's surprisingly likable Bad Grandpa, this movie is appealing and often funny, in a reckless, naughty way.

  • Director Tim Kirkby creates a rhythm that's as slack and inattentive as its lead character, stumbling along from set piece to set piece and happily repeating sight gags like a bear that drinks Schlitz from the can.

  • I laughed like a hyena during the movie: It's liberating to be told - implicitly - that for 90 minutes you don't have to worry about real-world consequences.
